First, I would like to apologize for taking so long to write a post. I will do better or else I will fire myself. Now that I got that out of the way lets begin

Throughout my career I knew grief and loss included death and many other endings and separations. For example grief and loss can be experienced because of a divorce, relocation, imprisonment, foster care placement, and relational separations. In order to fully increase our awareness about grief and healing we must understand that the death is the finale but we experience losses throughout our life that is not associated with physical death. Today’s post is short and sweet loss is more than death. If you do not know you better ask somebody.

Growing up in a huge family you always have someone to play with and you will learn about death early on and often. Some people say I would love to be in a big family. It has it perks but with anything in life benefits can also come with problems. The problems of growing up in a huge family filled with love would be the reality that death comes knocking often.

As I write this (1-31-10) my family is preparing for the funeral of my uncle, my father’s youngest brother. The question remains why am I passionate about grief and healing? Reason number 1 I want grievers to feel free to grieve and mourn. Reason number 2 sometimes family culture can create suppression to grieving and eventually healing. Reason number 3 my family love the words be strong when dealing with death. Reason number 4 Jesus Holy Spirit comforted me in my grieving valleys. Reason number 5 we will all experience death. Reason number 6-100 I am passionate about helping the body of Christ grow better in grief and not bitter.

4- Create activities that will give you a day or days away from your grieving process (this is called a grief vacation do something you always wanted to try but never did)
5- Find someone in need and help (no money needed if they need a hug give a hug, if they need company go over, if they need a prayer say a prayer, if they need love give them love and if they need forgiveness forgive them and/or volunteer for non-profit organizations or at a church)
6- Remember Jesus was born and died for our sins so that we will have opportunity to live again with our loved ones and with Him
7- Create a poem, drawing or any type of craft that would represent your current feelings
8- Begin the forgiveness process by first forgiving yourself and than forgiving others (follow the links below they can assist you with forgiving)

Yesterday, my aunt called and said she ordered me a digital camcorder and it is coming in the mail. I really needed that because I can record my workshops and the festivals I will be going to. My day was so great because I was excited and filled with anticipation because of my gift coming in the mail.

After work I realized I am happy over what my aunt said because I trust that it will come in the mail. So, I questioned why am I not that excited when I am going through a rough patch. God said He would never leave or forsake. So, why when I go through trouble I am not excited like its coming in the mail. WHY NOT?

Jesus is my provider, He said I will have life more abundantly according to His riches in glory. He said He will give me the desires of my heart. He said He will make my enemy my footstool. He said I have victory in HIM. That’s what JESUS said. So, presently I am working on getting that same excitement in all things because when God has your back you will always walk in victory. I am highly expecting God’s blessings, God’s provision, God’s peace, God’s Healing and God’s comfort. I GOT MAIL!!!!

Love You All,

It is hard to believe that in less than 30 days 2009 will be no more. The great thing is if you are reading this blog you survived most of 2009. Even though some days, weeks and months were rough the point is God held you up when you wanted to go out. What can you be thankful for that occurred in 2009? Think about it, we made it with scars and bruises but Jesus carried us through. I am so thankful I made it to December and I am anticipating a great end of the year and greater 2010. Give God thanks for being a God who never fails and who is always there. Never forget to be thankful to our creator and remember Jesus saves.
